Sarah McCoy

Sarah McCoy is a graduate of Mars Hill University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano. Starting piano studies at the age of five, her teachers have included her mother, Jane McCoy (Professor of Voice at Warren Wilson College and Lecturer at Montreat College), Karen Sorrells, Dr. Anna Hayward, and Dr. Teresa Sumpter. Sarah has been teaching professionally for over four years and also loves contributing her time and efforts to the church and to the Greater Asheville community, often accompanying theater productions and choral groups.  Sarah also plays guitar and percussion and is the front-woman of local group, The Friendly Beasts. She has just completed a year of service with Hands & Feet of Asheville and currently works part-time for the homeless nonprofit, Church of the Advocate. She is an invaluable part of the Piano Lab team and is thrilled for the opportunity to share music with the Asheville community on a greater scale.
